Default Doug Hoye Bandimere Tech Official

I worked tech tonight and Sporty informed me of this at the start of my shift, and then e-mailed it out this evening.

"It is with a heavy heart that I inform all of you that Wednesday morning, May 20th Doug passed away. According to his wife Ann he came home Tuesday from the Clear Creek Care Center and was doing well. Tuesday night she retired to bed leaving him to watch TV and when she awoke Wednesday morning he had passed.

I apologize for communicating this way, but I wanted to make sure that each of you were informed as soon as possible. Doug was a big part of our Tech Family and trust you will keep Ann in your prayers."

Please keep Ann and Doug's family in your prayers.
Thank You, Tom

That really sucks. I always had fun giving him a hard time. Prayers to his family.

I did not expect this when i opened this thread.... Doug definitely had a one in a million personality, and i will miss him out at the track. Doug and Tom (vega) were the first track officials to ever tech my truck out at Bandimere, back in 2004 when i started racing.

At truckfest a few years ago, Doug laughed when i went to get my punchcard to run in the pro truck class (seriously, who wouldnt laugh), and was still laughing when i went back to collect on my 1/4 finalist winnings. I know that Doug will be missed, not only by his family, his friends, and his foes, but also by me, and almost every other racer out at Bandimere.

Doug was a cool guy, I always liked hearing his old stories from when he was in the service, and his old racing stories as well, he had a great sense of humor too
It's gonna be a real bummer not seeing him at the track, he will be greatly missed
