Default Mustang help

If I extend the tubs to the frame rails and run coilover shocks between the rails whats the biggest rear tire I can put under a 93 notchback?
Im trying to decide what to do to the wifes new race car. Im on the fence, mini tub or backhalf.

to the very best of my knowledge, 315 drag radials on a 12" wheel, OR 29.5x10.5W tires (measure like 11.5 inches) is all that will fit up next to the framerails... if you go with anything taller than a 28 you will have to cut out the fender well to fit that taller tire as well..
heres 315 drag radials, you can see how close they are to the frame rails:http://wolferacecraft.com/images/cus...lson/nel11.jpg
and a better view again 315s: http://wolferacecraft.com/images/cus...ew/wolfe15.JPG
all of my friends dog me for having "no tire under that car" eventho i joke and say "real men do it on 10.5s" really and truly not much can be stuffed under stock suspension/framerail fox's anyway...
good luck!

I've read I should be able to put a 28x10.5 tire on my 85 coupe but I'll need a 6.5 inch backspace wheel, is this what you use Andrew?

exactly... without minitubs, you can cram 28x10/5 in there using 6.5bs.. youll need to get out the biggest sledge hammer you own and go to town on the inner fender though. and dont be shy with it otherwise the tires will rub right where the spring perches are, and on the front of the wheel tub... you will also have to roll the inner fender or do like i did and cut it out

The inner fender has allready been rolled, I have a 28x9.0 on it now and I'm thinking with the new 347 it's going to be difficult to get traction.

Thanks for the info Andrew.

another good resource for minitub info/pics on the project. yes this is only minitubs, and they keep the springs in the semi-stock location, but still gives a basic idea:

Thanks for the replies.. After talking to people and seeing a few cars Im going to back half the car. That way I can put any size tire under it. Leaning towards 29x11.5 slick.
As of now it will be pearl white with a blue rally stripe, but Im sure that will change a few times before I get to that part. You all know the saying "If mama aint happy..." Ill keep ya posted
